Thursday Thirteen # 39
Sorry, no special codes for this one - I'm a little out of sorts this week. Here's 13 things I've been up to.
- I went to a cousin's baby shower.
- I'm house sitting in a house I hope to one day own.
- I've become addicted to having the History channel and the Discovery channel, and was upset tonight to come to the house to find the Animal Planet has disappeared from the guide thingie...
- I keep kicking myself for forgetting my bathing suit - there's a sweet sweet jacuzzi here!
- I can't sleep. I don't do well when I'm not in my own bed. I'm going on 4 night of very limited sleep. (I usually get about 9 hours)
- I killed a squirrel on my way to the house tonight. No, not on purpose!! Stupid furrball was suicidal and ran out in front of my car.
- I can't wait to get home and try to upload the pictures I took in Palm Springs last weekend - but considering Flickr hasn't let me upload the rest of the Tahoe pictures, I'm kind of doubtful...
- Oh ya, I went to Palm Springs last weekend.
- My brother in law, Anti, went to the emergency room yesterday. I went over to my sister's to "hang out" with The Singer and Artist during all that. He lucked out and did NOT have to have emergency surgery.
- All of the coffee shops in the area where I work have been closed down. I was baffled and actually went to a
SuckbucksStarbucks yesterday. (the entire experience was horrible - but at least I had several shots of espresso coursing through my blood!) - Today I learned how early the coffee shop near this house is open, 5:30 :-) :-)
- The big big big wigs from our Parent company, we're talking the folks from the other side of the Atlantic here, are in the office this week.
- I think they're taking away our casual Friday dress code this week because of it.
What have you been up to, or what are you looking forward to?
Are you looking for an INTERACTIVE TT? Michael has a great one that will take you back to the 80's on his blog Valtool's Box!!

12 Bites:
Things like that make me glad I am not a coffee achiever. I am a TT achiever as I did an interactive TT a la Frigga, so if you wanna link live me. :)BTW - you're there alone, so who needs a bathing suit? (or at least a bra and panties ought to work)
Sounds like a busy but fun week! I love the History Channel and the Discovery Channel, too! Enjoy your coffee in the morning! Just a few more hours...
Would you please put your 'sorts' back in place?
Also, don't you think you should be able to sleep in the house you want to own someday?
Ok, ok, done kidding you. But on a serious note: Don't the squirrels seem much more homicidal this spring than like...ever?
Sounds like you've been busy.
Do big big big wigs mean no rockin' this week?
{{{{hugs}}}} about the lack of sleep and the suicidal squirrel. The early-opening coffee shop is a godsend, then!
Palm Springs?? Wow...thats only a half an hour from my house. Ever driven thru Yucaipa?? Great list...you know, if you are there alone, swimming in the nude is acceptable;) Happy TT.
Busy week, but I have to say a skinny dip in the jacuzzi would be acceptable I think.
Nice TT, mine is up.
You know, all the Starbucks I've been in have been nice. The staff is nice and organized and it's usually quite comfy to sit there and read or have a chat.
Valtool - But coffee is sooo good, I enjoy it. Link love has been given ;-) And yes, I've considered the bra & panties option... 8-)
Mrs. Brownstone - Yes, busy and fun. Thanks! :-)
Vixen - Well yes, but when it IS my house then it'll have all my stuff in it too, including my own bed :-) This squirrel didn't stand a chance, it was just an itty little one and my tire ran of the entire body, not just part of it :-0
Jenn - Busy, but good busy :-) And no way am I going to let the big wigs stop me from Rockin!!! ;-)
Darla - Well, the lack of sleep made the squirrel almost funny - but yes that little coffee shop is my favorite place this week!! ;-)
Lori - Yucaipa, yes I'm familiar with it. I mean, I'd need directions to get there. But I'm sure when I was a kid I played soccer against teams from there and probably played in Yucaipa before. :-0 Swimming in the nude? Something to consider....
Sassy Mama Bear - Another suggestion to go nude... Hmmmm.... :-0
SilverNeurotic - In my experience the staff is usually rude. The shops are usually noisy and dirty and their menu is NOT in English. When I try to order in English they tranlate everything into their slang when they repeat it back to me and I'm like "dude, just say it in plain English, I don't care for your new fangled words" And then there's the fact that they don't sell plain and simple normal water. I think they import it from Etheopia or somewhere equally cost-UNeffective. I feel like they try to fit me into a stereotypical "box" that if I don't want to crouch into they'll make fun of me. Literally. Employees there have made fun of me when I've ordered before. Woah, sorry for all that but ya, Starbucks really really really bothers me.
I'm no coffee drinker, but I'm not a big fan of chains in general...
You HAVE been busy. Me, too; today's the first day all week I've been home for a few hours to work. Bliss!
Sounds like you've had a nutty week. Glad your bil is okay and didn't need surgery!!
Susan Helene Gottfried - Yea, when given the opportunity I'm more likely to support a Mom & Pop shop over a big chain. And yay for getting your few hours!! :-)
Karina - Hehe, nutty. Oooh, sorry poor squirrel! :-( Well, my BIL didn't need the emergency surgery. He definitely needs to schedule one though. :-0
